THE DEVIL’S DOZEN | March 2018 March 6th, 2018 Our picks for the 12 best choices you can make this month 03/06/2018 Saturday, March 3 4th Annual Martenitsi-Making Workshop Compass Coffee, 647 E Market St 1pm It’s time to welcome Spring to Akron with another Martenitsi-making gathering. What’s a Martenitsa? It’s part of an annual Bulgarian tradition. During the last cold days of winter, people join together to make red and white spring summoning bracelets. On or around March 1, you tie on your bracelet or one that someone has gifted you. The idea is that you wear the bracelet until Spring has arrived. Then, you slip the bracelet off, tie it to a tree and make a wish. Some supplies will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own: string, yarn, pipe cleaners, scissors, buttons, beads, etc. For more information, follow International Akron on Facebook.
