Break out the bib overalls and Coogi sweaters, cause the ‘90s are making a comeback, at least for a day.
The University of Akron will throw it down old-school style at Infocision Stadium on August 25 at 7 pm. for the “I Love the ‘90s” tour, a four-hour concert featuring well-known hip-hop acts from the 1990s. The lineup includes Vanilla Ice, Salt- N-Pepa with Spinderella, Naughty by Nature, Coolio, Rob Base and Young MC.
Tickets for UA students start at $20 and tickets for the public start at $60. Raising the roof is free and absolutely necessary.
Since this event is selling nostalgia, you best believe all the hits will be played. Young MC will bust a move, Salt-N-Pepa will have all the fly mothers get out there and push it, Rob Base will get stupid (I mean, outrageous), Naughty by Nature will have you down with the O.P.P. and Vanilla Ice will flow like a harpoon, whatever that means. Hopefully Coolio doesn’t take the crowd on a walk through the valley of the shadow of death, cause that’s such a party foul.
For those who were thinking about it, please leave the parachute pants at home. Let’s just forget about that trend. Bring a friend instead, ‘cause it takes two to make a… Oh, never mind!
