Akron Canton Regional Foodbank // 9 am – 11 am // The Akron Canton Regional Foodbank has teamed up with Main Street Gourmet to hold a sale. Pick up some delicious frozen goods for the winter months while supporting the foodbank at the same time. Everything will be $1.25 per pound, and proceeds will directly support the foodbank. Come find cookie dough, muffin batter, granola and more, but hurry. Goodies are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cash, checks, and major credit cards will be accepted.
Cuyahoga Falls Library // 12 – 4 pm // Assemble your gaming dream team and join others for an afternoon of fun times, friends and snacks. Libraries worldwide will be participating in International Games Week, which aims to spread the word about all the educational, recreational and social benefits of playing games. Underhill’s Games will be at the event providing game demos so you can find new ones to love. Prizes will be available, and the event is free for all ages. No registration required.
A Creative ApothaCare // 7 pm // If you’re looking for a new way to center yourself amid the chaos of your daily life, try out this beginning meditation class. Meditation is the practice of focusing your attention on a single reference point, such as the breath or a mantra. It can be a way of bringing your attention to the present moment. In this class, you’ll learn some helpful tricks for meditating in a way that works for you. $5.
Bounce Innovation Hub // 5 pm // Hosted by the Bit Factory, this is a one-of-a-kind pitch competition for MVP-stage software startups. Witness live negotiation with investor “sharks.” Four finalists will each get the opportunity to win up to $15,000 in investment, as well as admission to the Bit Factory’s Product Development Accelerator. This event is free, and food and drinks will be provided.
Pass the Gravy Comedy Show
The Rialto Theater // 8 pm // Hosted by Funny Noizes Productions and Rubber City Sound Company, settle in for an evening of comedy. Headliners are Michael Terry and Zach Petrovic from New York City. The operas of Verdi are dramatic and gripping, marking a high point in Italian Romantic opera. Listen to excerpts from Wagner’s The Ride of the Valkyries that portray universal issues of human existence, such as freedom, heroism and the power of love. Hosted by the Akron Symphony Chorus. Holiday Tree Festival
John S. Knight Center // 2 pm // Walk around the John S. Knight Center between Nov. 17 and 25 and check out more than 200 decorated trees and other holiday creations. Bonus: On this particular day, you can listen to the All Thumbs Bassoon Ensemble play your favorite classical and popular Christmas songs. The Holiday Tree Festival has been happening since 1982, with proceeds benefiting Akron Children’s Hospital. This event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.

Full Moon Hike & Fire
Liberty Park Nature Center // 7 – 9 pm // Hosted by the Summit Metro Parks, join a naturalist in hiking through Liberty Park under the light of the moon. You’ll get to learn some moon trivia, and you may even learn about some constellations. After a hike, you’ll be able to warm up with hot chocolate around a fire. This hike is valid credit for the Fall Hiking Spree. This event is free.
Akron Civic Theatre // 7 pm // The Ballet Theatre of Ohio presents this classic holiday show, which has been voted Akron’s #1 Holiday Show by Akron Beacon Journal readers.
