What’s your BIG IDEA?
“To provide a event whereas record collectors, DJs, beat diggers, and music lovers alike can congregate meet and hear vinyl bring spun on an International level via The Mighty Soul Night where we host an all vinyl event featuring the following genres soul, jazz, Latin, disco, afrobeat, psych, samba, and everything else under the sun. We (myself, Ben Crazy and Forrest Getem Gump) were lucky enough to form a relationship with Chelsea Canfield at Uncorked Wine Bar a true renaissance woman that shared our common vision.”
Why pursue your BIG IDEA?
“Music is in my DNA and I couldn’t stop the music if I tried. I honestly think that people shouldn’t have to leave NE Ohio to hear rare music being played there is a large community of record collectors throughout NE Ohio that needs outlets to be creative and grow.”
When did you know your BIG IDEA was a good idea?
“Yes, there have been several instances where people have came up to us during our event offering us cash tips, wanting play list, telling us thank you, and insisting we never let the music stop. There have been some truly magical moments with some incredible music and people!”
How do you hope your BIG IDEA helps make Akron a little better?
“We hope that more people feel free to like and listen to all types of music and that some fledgling musician finds inspiration via us digging into the past and presenting our sonic finds to the public.”
