Rubber Duck Derby Supporting the Mustill Store at Lock 15

Livestream via Cascade Locks Park Association Facebook page // 3:00 – 3:30 pm // Support the Cascade Locks Park Association in their annual Rubber Duck Derby, which will be virtual this year, to raise funds for the Mustill Store. Tickets can be purchased for $10 per duck (or $50 for six ducks) here.

Creative Canvas for Adults

Zoom // 10:00 – 11:00 am // Join the Summit Metro Parks’ interpretive artist for an online tutorial in creating a turtle craft from the comfort of your home. When you register for the class, you’ll receive all the necessary supplies in the mail and a Zoom link via email. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here.

Livestream // all day // PorchRokr may have been cancelled due to the pandemic, but it has been replaced with CouchRokr, a virtual version of the event you can attend from your own couch. Twelve bands will be featured throughout the day, performing at various locations around Highland Square. There will also be a yoga event in the morning hosted by Yoga Squared, and a Zoom Dance Party in the evening. Stream the show at JillysMusicRoom.Live // 7:30 – 8:30 pm // Celebrate the release of Akron music legend Tracey Thomas’s tenth album, My Roots Are Showing. This event is free, but donations can be made and merchandise purchased here.

Kenmore First Friday Drive-in Concert

The Rialto Theatre // 6:00 pm // Join the Kenmore Neighborhood Alliance and the Kenmore Chamber of Commerce for a drive-in concert! Carhops will take your food orders from Lil’ Bit Cafe. Enjoy performances from Jeff Klemm and By Light We Loom. Parking is in the South Alley Parking Lot between 13th and 15th Streets. Trans Rights Rally

Waters Park // 2:00 – 8:00 pm // Gather in Waters Park to share resources and stories, and then march to the Akron Municipal Building. Masks and social distancing are required. Masks will be provided for those who do not have their own. Free.

The Complete Works of Will Shakespeare (Abridged) by Ohio Shakespeare Festival

Stan Hywet // Gates at 6 pm, show at 7:30 pm // Back for its fourth year, this show by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield covers all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in just 97 minutes. Safety precautions include: Small audiences; no intermission; staggered entry and exit; masked employees; and digital programs that guests can view on their cell phones. Tickets must be purchased in advance, which you can do here. $30 or $15 for under 18.

Summit Lake Neighborhood Farmers Market, hosted by Let’s Grow Akron

Summit Lake Community Center // 4:00 – 7:00 pm // Enjoy fresh, locally grown produce at this Tuesday evening farmers market. There will also be free canoe rides provided by Akron Civic Commons. Social distancing practices and masks are required in the market area. EBT/SNAP benefits will be matched up to $25.

Wild for Wine

Akron Zoo // 6:00 – 9:00 pm // Spend time after hours at the zoo tasting eight different samples of wine. Several safety precautions will be in place for the duration of the event, including mandatory face masks, sanitizing stations, compostable tasting cups, and a limited capacity. Lock 3 Park // 9:30 – 10:30 am // Get your body moving with Zumba instructor Christy Leenheer, who will be providing an hour long Zumba class at Lock 3, hosted by Downtown Akron Partnership.
