Couldn’t make the first Live at Lock 4 event? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Your case of FOMO (fear of missing out) is coming to an end as we fill you in on past experiences that’ll hopefully inspire new ones at the second Lock 4 event tomorrow, Thursday July 20.

Greeted with the aroma of Square Scullery, Akron-Canton’s 2016 and 2017 Hot List winner for best food truck, crowd members lined up to purchase popular food items to accompany band sounds. The perfect “not too hot, not too cold” weather created a cool breeze as friends and families congregated in large numbers. Craft beer from Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. and Hoppin’ Frog Brewery was also supplied. What more can one ask for when you have food, friends, beer and music?

“The general vibe of the crowd was really great,” said 25-year-old, Akron University law student, Robbie Coon. “It’s surprising to see how many people are still here, but then again, we all like to support each other.”

It wouldn’t be Ohio if unpredictable weather didn’t crash the party.  But although the rain put a damper on the performances mid-way through, the vibes that the crowd caught didn’t wash away.

“It was cool, even though we got a little wet. The bands were great; they were a lot of fun and I felt like they kept their energy through the rain, which is awesome to see,” said 24-year-old, Akron University graduate Larissa Papas, who’s favorite part was the local music.  “You have to have local Akron music. Everyone’s so good and you can just feel the vibe surrounding and it really brings out the community. It’s something to connect with all different types of people. It’s not just university students or benefactors, it’s everyone. “

HR3:Beats, Drums & Music and The Admirables performed original live music while sounds from the rushing waterfalls of the Ohio-Erie canal faded in the background. But unfortunately, the rain did put a halt to THE DREEMERS’ performance, who’ll be playing at Signal Tree Fest, July 29 instead.

If you thought this was great, you don’t want to miss the next one tomorrow with performances from Luv Abstract, The Waves and Relaxer. The show is from 6 PM-10PM, so make sure to clear your calendar!
