#RAKEAkron is asking for help with their most recent project.  Students at Helen Arnold CLC, an Akron Public school, are in dire need of school clothes right now, including new socks and underwear.  During the school’s open house tomorrow, September 8, from 4 – 6 pm, students will have the opportunity to “shop” for school clothes from donations made to #RAKEAkron.

What they need:

  • Gently used APS approved school uniforms. Please drop off directly to Helen Arnold CLC. Uniform requirements listed below.
  • Volunteers from 3:30-6pm on Sept 8 (times are flexible). If someone can only help with set-up, and another just be there from 5-6pm, that is still very helpful.
  • Bags (plastic, paper, reusable from businesses wanting to advertise, etc.)

APS school uniform requirements:

Boys and girls can wear black, navy blue or khaki-colored bottoms (pants and skirts) and long- or short-sleeved polo-style tops or buttoned dress shirts in blue (any shade), red, green, white and yellow. Also, girls can wear jumpers. Sweaters (cardigans or vests, no hoods) also are allowed, as are turtlenecks.

They need the following sizes: boys and girls 6, 6x, 8, 10, 12, and 14.

And, of course, new underwear and socks.  Since the girls can also wear skirts and dresses, new tights are always welcome, too!
